Dr. Alex Ariho is the Associate Professor of Development and Business Incubation Management for London College of International Business Studies UK, Bishop Stuart University Uganda, and Cape Coast University Ghana with over 24 years of senior management experience and expert leadership. Alex is leading a team that works with more than 260 incubators throughout 55 African countries.
Dr. Alex Ariho is an agribusiness incubation and global agribusiness value development expert with over 15 years of experience in business management and program coordination. He currently coordinates Agribusiness Incubation for job and wealth creation in 54 African countries. African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN) is one of the technical arms of African Union Department of Agriculture and Rural Economy where Alex plays a critical role in creating jobs through incubation and business modeling as an expert.
Dr. Ariho has a Ph.D in Development Management with special focus on agribusiness value chain and business incubation. He has an extensive career, which includes building the UniBRAIN incubation model for job and wealth creation in Africa, serving as a founding member of the Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa (PACA), working for the African Agriculture Advisory Services (AFAAS), Uganda Agriculture Advisory Services Forum (UFAAS), the Agribusiness Value Chain Development Network (AVCDN), Afri Banana Products Limited, and as President and founder of Excel Hort Consult Limited (EHC), International Centre for skills and Talent Development (ICSTD), and the African Agribusiness Bank (EHC-AAB).
2He has also worked with African governments on the implementation of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP) since 2009 and held senior management positions in the agribusiness sector, in international development management, and as former UniBRAIN coordinator at FARA based in Ghana.
Dr. Ariho has rich knowledge and expertise in managing and coordinating multi-partner business initiatives supported by the World Bank, African Development Bank, African Union, Africa India Innovation Fund, Forum for Agriculture Research in Africa (FARA), Danida, Help A Child Netherlands, Nuffic, USAID, European Union (EU), UNDP, AGRA, GORTA Ireland, Self Help Africa, Food and Agriculture Organization, ASARECA, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and African governments, among others. Dr. Ariho is also a visiting lecturer to outstanding African Universities including Sokoine University of Agriculture, Makerere University, Uganda Management Institute (UMI), the China European Africa Business School (CEABS), Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), and the Great Lakes Regional University specializing in Development Management and Global Agribusiness Value Chain studies.
